Are food cravings and unhealthy eating habits preventing you from reaching your health goals? Do you find yourself obsessing about food and weight? Are you at war with your body and on an endless and frustrating quest to find or maintain a healthy weight?

If so, this coaching program is for you. Heal the Hungry BrainTM is a coaching program for adults and teens that interrupts destructive eating habits like yo-yo dieting, emotional eating and food addiction so that you can improve your health, find and maintain a healthy weight and develop a positive body image.

You have been taught that the way to lose weight and be healthier is to “eat right and work out more”. While healthy eating and exercise play an important role, the “eat right, workout more” prescription is impossible to maintain when disordered eating patterns get in your way.

Most health efforts fail because they fail to address the problem at the root, which is that the thin ideal, the weight watching mentality, the processed food culture and life stressors effect your psychobiology, creating a Hungry Hormonal StormTM that leaves you stressed and hungry, driving you to foods that cause addiction and perpetuating disordered eating habits that sabotage all the hard work you do to get healthy.

In this program, you will learn about the Hungry Brain – how it develops, how drives eating, weight, health and body image problems and how you can tame it.

Once you understand how the Hungry Brain drives disordered eating and sabotages your effort to get healthy, you will learn how to heal eating problems at the root. Simple, entertaining and experiential lessons teach you how to stop the Hungry Hormonal StormTM, to reduce the frequency and intensity of food cravings, to break disordered eating habits, and to feel satisfied with the foods that nourish your body and help to regulate your weight. You will also learn how to stop food cravings in their tracks, tap into your innate weight regulating system and update the lens through which you see your body in order to develop a positive body image.

The results you can expect from Heal the Hungry BrainTM are:

  • Reduce or terminate disordered eating habits like yo-yo dieting, emotional eating, and food addiction.
  • Learn to stop food cravings in their tracks.
  • Stop the Hungry Hormonal StormTM in order to reduce the frequency and intensity of disordered eating episodes.
  • Update the lens through which you see your body to develop a positive body image.
  • Tap into your innate weight regulating system to find and maintain your healthy weight.

Heal the Hungry BrainTM is offered to adults in a group and private setting, and to teens and families in a private setting. Sessions are offered online or in-person at the Center for Eating Recovery. The program was developed by Alison Ross, a licensed psychotherapist and Health Coach who specializes in eating and body image.

COACHING OPTIONS

Heal the Hungry Brain Coaching Sessions are offered in a group and private format, online and in-person.

Private sessions, offered online and in-person, offer you the opportunity to work at your own pace and to focus attention on areas that are important to you.

Group coaching, offered online and in-person, offers the benefit of affordability and the encouragement, support and perspective from your peers as you complete the program. Your group will meet each week to receive lessons, check in about progress and learn and practice skills.

Groups are limited to eight participants and will be open to new participants until they are filled. They require a minimum commitment of one month, and participants are highly encouraged to make an eight-week commitment. Many participants remain in the program for six-months to a year in order to achieve optimum results. All monthly sessions are paid in advance and refunds will not be offered for missed sessions. Online groups utilize ZOOM technology, which enables participants to connect online using video and audio.

Group sessions are available to adults of all ages, sizes and life experiences.

Private sessions are available to adults, teens and families.

Private Coaching for Adults, Teens & Families

Private sessions offer the benefit of a program that is customized to your specific health goals. Private coaching is an excellent option for adults and teens who want to prevent or resolve eating and body image problems as well as for families who want to create a healthy, home environment to prevent or address eating or body image problems among family members.

Want to experience a Heal the Hungry BrainTM coaching session before you buy? Sign up for free, online 30-minute coaching session with Alison Ross where you can experience what the program has to offer. Available for new clients only, on a first-come, first-served basis.

GROUP SESSIONS

ONLINE – Wednesdays, 5:30pm-6:45pm, PT – $55 per session

Facilitated by Alison Ross. $55.00 per session. Fees are due at the beginning of each month for all sessions in the upcoming month. There are no refunds issued for missed sessions. Participants will attend the group using ZOOM technology. You will need a computer with Internet access, a browser, a video camera and the ZOOM app downloaded to your computer (you will be prompted to download the software when you attempt to join the meeting). Upon registration, you will receive a link that allows you to attend the weekly meeting.

IN-PERSON –  Thursdays, 12:30pm-1:45pm, PT –  $55 per session
